In a recent report, Alfredo Pedulla stated that Manchester City could move in for Paris Saint-Germain keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. It has been claimed that the Mancunian talent would have to rival Bayern Munich in the race to land the Italy international this summer.

Donnarumma’s Impressive Form At PSG Last Season

Donnarumma enjoyed an excellent run of form at PSG last season when he put in several impressive displays for them in Ligue 1. The Italian talent conceded 43 goals and earned 17 clean sheets in 47 appearances for the French club in the previous campaign across all competitions.

The 26-year-old even managed to help Paris Saint-Germain win the UEFA Champions League and remains one of the best keepers in European football. Thus, Man City would do well to lure him to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

His current contract at Parc des Princes will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for Man City to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.

Is Donnarumma A Dream Option For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?

Donnarumma can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing well on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball and doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed.

The Italian talent can use his quick reflexes to make a few solid saves at the back. Standing at 1.96m, he is a strong presence in the air as well and doesn’t mind coming out to collect crosses and loose balls inside his penalty area.

We can expect Donnarumma to bring more quality to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola’s backline. He would even serve as an ideal replacement for Ederson, who is past his prime, at the Mancunian club.

At 26, Donnarumma has got his best years ahead of him, which makes him a dream option for Guardiola to consider in this summer transfer window. He might even help Man City compete for a lot of major honours over the next few years. Thus, the Mancunian giants would be wise to go all out to bring Donnarumma on board soon, but only if they can get him for a reasonable fee.
