Manchester City has named a strong squad for the league phase of this season’s UEFA Champions League. There is depth in all lines, and that gives Pep Guardiola a plethora of options to utilise. Pep Guardiola’s side will be looking to have a stronger campaign than last season’s disappointing effort. Looking at the City squad, it does illustrate how much change has occurred at the club this summer.
For the first time in many years, there is no Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, Jack Grealish, Ilkay Gundogan, Manuel Akanji, or Kyle Walker to call upon. All six players have left the club. Each player has been a key contributor for Manchester City in recent years. It is now time for a new crop of players to rise for Pep Guardiola’s side. That is the challenge ahead of the new-look City squad.
There is a strong look to the Manchester City squad for this season’s Champions League league phase. But the City squad also shows how much change has occurred at the club this summer so the hope is that Pep Guardiola’s side can hit the ground running in this season’s Champions League.
