Manchester City join hunt for Real Betis star | OneFootball

Premier League champions Manchester City have positioned themselves in the fray for the signing of Real Betis standout Sergi Altimira.

That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

Altimira, for his part, is in the midst of what has been an altogether impressive campaign to date.

Continuing to establish himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of boss Manuel Pellegrini, the 23-year-old has racked up 30 appearances across all competitions.

And his ongoing excellence on both sides of the ball across these outings, it is understood, has begun to pique attentions in the English Premier League.

As confirmed by the aforementioned Fabrizio Romano, both Wolverhampton Wanderers and, notably, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are keeping a close eye on Altimira’s development, with a view to a possible future bid.

It is also noted, though, that for the time being at least, Real Betis have no intention of allowing such a key performer to depart.
