City are set for a big window as Guardiola looks to reclaim the Premier League’s top spot
For the first time since the 2016-17 season, Manchester City finished a campaign without a trophy and that is expected to spark a busy summer.
The departure of Kevin De Bruyne will free up plenty of space on the club’s wage bill and there could be more big names leaving.
City are rebuilding under Pep Guardiola, who is also refreshing his coaching staff this summer by changing three members of the backroom team.
City want to bolster their midfield, which struggled last season without Rodri.

The Spaniard, who injured his knee in September, is back fit - but City are still planning to refresh that area of the pitch.
De Bruyne has bid an emotional farewell to the club and is leaving at the end of his contract this month.
City’s midfield options are in need of a youthful injection, with Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Mateo Kovacic all 30 or older.
Nico Gonzalez, 23, signed from Porto during the January transfer window for £50million, but more depth is needed.
City want to add reinforcements at full-back as they continue to bolster their defence.
The club signed two centre-backs in January - Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis - but further additions are expected now.

Guardiola was forced to get creative to solve issues at full-back last season, with academy graduate Nico O’Reilly filling in.
A new goalkeeper could be on the cards, too. That, however, would more likely be dependent on what outgoings take place.
Ederson is once again being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia and, if he were to leave, that would force City to go into the market.
Midfielders are City’s priority and they have been linked with several players over the past few months.
Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White is believed to be of interest to them after he excelled last season.

Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has also been linked with a move to City after starring in an underperforming AC Milan team.
City had been interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, however, they could now swoop for Lyon’s Rayan Cherki in a bid to add creativity.
In the full-back department, City have been credited with an interest in Newcastle’s Tino Livramento and Rayan Ait-Nouri of Wolves.
De Bruyne is leaving after his contract expired and he could be joined by some more of City’s big names.
Jack Grealish is among those with an uncertain future after starting just four games since the turn of the year. Silva’s future is also up in the air and the same goes for Kovacic.
It is unclear if Ederson will stay at the club after being heavily linked with a move away from City this time last year.
James McAtee struggled for minutes last season and will not be short of interest if he pushes to leave the club.
