It’s been an unprecedented decline from City, who have lost nine of their last 12 games. Last weekend’s loss at Aston Villa saw familiar flaws exposed with the champions lacking energy in midfield as Villa carved open the gaps.

Their opponents on Boxing Day arrive fresh from frustrating title challengers Arsenal and Chelsea in consecutive goalless draws. Everton have recorded five clean sheets in their last six games, though have struggled for goals at the other end. Sean Dyche’s side are the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League this season.
