English giants make transfer move to bring ex-Blue back to the Premier League

According to reports, the Real Madrid defender is yet to agree an extension to his expiring contract and now the English giants sense an opportunity to bring the player back to the Premier League.

Rudiger established himself as one of Europe's best centre-backs while at Chelsea, only to leave on a free transfer in 2022.

But now, having won the Champions League and La Liga with Madrid, a return to England could be on the cards.

TuttoSport report that Juventus are ready to reignite their interest in Rudgier, having missed out on the player four years ago, but are aware of keen interest from both United and Liverpool.

It is claimed that both Liverpool and United have made contact with the player to confirm their interest ahead of the summer transfer window.

Liverpool may have the edge in the race, the report suggests, given United are in contract talks with Harry Maguire over a renewal and have the likes of Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven on their books.

Over at Anfield, meanwhile, Virgil van Dijk's performances continue to underwhelm and Ibrahima Konate's future is far from certain. Youngsters Giovanni Leoni and Jeremy Jacquet are set for roles next season, but will need an experienced head beside them.

One potential ace up Juventus' sleeve is head coach Luciano Spalletti, who is a huge admirer of Rudiger after the pair worked together at Roma between 2015 and 2017.
