In a recent report, Ouest-France claimed that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Stade Rennais forward Mohamed Kader Meite. It is believed that the Red Devils are showing interest in recruiting the French striker as they look to bolster their attack for the long run.
Meite has enjoyed a good run of form at the French club and deserves credit for putting in a handful of impressive displays as the focal point of their attack. The 18-year-old has found the back of the net on three occasions and earned two assists in 19 matches for his current employers this season across various competitions.
The French talent has caught the eye at times for Rennes in the final third. Hence, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are hoping to snap him up this year.
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Meite this year.

Meita is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for others around him on the offensive end of the field.
The French talent is a good dribbler with the ball as well. Standing at 1.92m, Meita can use his strong frame to dominate the opposition attackers in the air. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to acquire his services.
Meita would no doubt enhance the quality of Man United boss Michael Carrick’s frontline in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good, rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad. The French youngster will also be a good replacement for Joshua Zirkzee, who has struggled to find consistency at Old Trafford thus far.
At 18, Meita is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future. With all things considered, Man United should focus on going all out to bring him to England in this winter transfer period or at the end of this campaign.
