Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are battling over the signature of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.
The Lilywhites have recently launched a £70 million bid to sign the 25-year-old, with a £65m base fee plus £5m in add-ons. This is £10m more than United’s offer they submitted for the forward last week.
The Manchester giants are reportedly willing to offer a salary package between £150,000-£175,000-a-week, with bonuses taking it to £200,000-a-week.
On the other hand, Tottenham are not expected to match that figure, with their current highest earner Son Heung-min making £190,000-a-week.
Man Utd will not be able to offer Mbeumo Champions League football after their Europa League final loss to Spurs last month in Bilbao.
But despite no European football, the right winger is understood to be open to joining the club.
Mbeumo enjoyed a stellar 2024-25 Premier League campaign with Brentford, as he bagged 20 goals and seven assists in 38 matches to help them secure a 10th-place finish.
The Bees are ready to sell their prized asset but only for the right fee.
United have already submitted two bids, with the most recent one worth a £60m package.
But Brentford want more for the forward, who has a year left on his contract with an option for another 12 months.
