In a recent report, Bild revealed that Manchester United have set their sights on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham. It is believed that the Red Devils are monitoring the English talent’s situation ahead of a potential move for him next year.

Bellingham has made a decent start to this Bundesliga campaign as he has been responsible for producing a series of solid performances for Dortmund in the middle of the park. The English midfield ace has featured in nine matches for the German club this season across all fronts.

The 20-year-old has offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and has done well to make four tackles, two blocks, four interceptions and four clearances in the Bundesliga. He was even excellent when distributing possession from midfield, based on his pass success rate of 85.6% in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2030. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Red Devils to get a deal done for the English talent on the cheap next year.

Will Bellingham Be A Good Fit For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Bellingham is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his side at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.

The English sensation mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a holding midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up in 2026.

Bellingham would bring more depth to Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He is good enough to serve as a good rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad.

At 20, Bellingham has the potential to be a future star in English football. Thus, he would be a decent fit for Man United’s needs in the long run.
