Red Devils hoping for key returns after another bruising defeat
Manchester United endured another dramatic week under Ruben Amorim.
The Red Devils followed up their FA Cup penalty shootout win over Arsenal with a largely dreadful performance against Southampton on Thursday night, saved only by a stunning late hat-trick from Amad Diallo in a 3-1 win.
Amorim’s side were then punished at Old Trafford by Brighton on Sunday, with the United boss suggesting his team could be the “worst” outfit in the club’s history following a 3-1 defeat.
The issues at United may run much deeper than fitness problems but there is little doubt Amorim could do with his full squad available.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the Manchester United injuries.
Luke Shaw hasn’t played since November, having suffered a setback in his recovery from a calf injury a month later.
Amorim, however, last week confirmed Shaw is closing in on a return to fitness.
Potential return date: February

Mason Mount’s nightmare time at United continued in December when he was forced off during the win over Manchester City with a fresh muscle injury.
“I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long,” said Amorim at the time.
“And that’s it. It’s part of football and we continue.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Victor Lindelof hasn’t played since the Carabao Cup defeat against Tottenham last month and his return date remains unclear.

Jonny Evans has been dealing with a muscle complaint since December and it remains to be seen when he will be fit again.
