Manchester United interested in signing Bayern Munich trio set for free agency next summer | OneFootball

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing three Bayern Munich players who are set to become free agents in the summer of 2025.

According to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, United are keen on landing Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies.

Plettenberg reveals, “With Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies, three Bayern players are in Manchester United’s sights. The Red Devils are monitoring the situation surrounding the FCB trio.”

“The English would like to sign the latter on a free transfer, but Real Madrid currently has the better cards when it comes to signing the left-back.”

“The lightning-fast winger [Sane] is a topic of discussion at United and enjoys a great standing on the island – also due to his time at Manchester City (2016 to 2020).”

Plettenberg notes that Goretzka is on United’s list but despite the fact he has fallen out of favour at the Allianz Arena, the midfielder wants to fight for his place in Bavaria.

As such, he is not currently thinking about sealing a switch to Old Trafford.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Goretzka was looking to part ways with Bayern during the winter transfer window but it appears he may have had a drastic change of heart.

Last month, Bayern boss Vincent Kompany poured cold water on Goretzka’s links to United, as he insisted that the Germany international still had a role to play under him.

United could certainly do with a left-back and Davies would be an ideal candidate but as Plettenberg points out, Real Madrid are the favourites to sign the Canadian footballer, who has in the past openly flirted with the idea of joining the ranks at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, a swoop for Sane would be controversial owing to his connections with cross-town rivals Manchester City.

Nevertheless, the situation of the trio is one for United fans to keep a close eye on. For a club in dire financial shape and in desperate need to remain in compliance with PSR, it’s easy to see why the Reds are attracted to the prospect of recruiting three experienced players on a free.

United return to action this weekend when they host Brentford.
