Kobbie Mainoo is keen to leave Manchester United on loan before the closure of the transfer window.

Mainoo has been an unused substitute in each of the club’s opening two Premier League games and appears to have no clear role in Ruben Amorim’s tactical plan.

Bruno Fernandes’ move to a deeper midfield role has contributed to his sidelining and the 20-year-old is exploring his options.

Transfer journalist Graeme Bailey is reporting that Mainoo is interested in a potential loan exit. The England international believes he still has a long-term future at Old Trafford but wants regular minutes in a World Cup year.

Mainoo burst onto the scene during the 2023/24 season, with his performances earning the youngster a place in the England squad for Euro 2024.

He featured prominently as the Three Lions reached the final of that tournament, but endured a downturn in fortunes last season. Amid injury issues and a change of manager, he struggled to replicate the performances of the previous campaign.

Several sides are understood to be monitoring his situation ahead of the deadline for business on September 1st.
