Manchester United are battling AC Milan for the signing of Club Brugge midfielder Ardon Jashari, as per reports.

Jashari moved to Brugge from Luzern last summer and needed little time to find his feet in Belgium. His composed performances in the middle of the park also led to him being named the Jupiler Pro League Player of the Season.

The 22-year-old Swiss is a midfielder with an impeccable level of technical ability and he has drawn comparisons to Sergio Busquets for his tactical intelligence as a number six in Brugge’s midfield.

Accordingly, the Belgian giants face an uphill task of keeping hold of their star, who has attracted interest from Europe’s top clubs.

According to HLN (via Get Belgian & Dutch Football News), United, Milan, and Borussia Dortmund have all shown interest in Jashari.

Milan are reported to be planning to submit a bid of €30 million including bonuses for the Switzerland international but Brugge value him at €40m.

Brugge’s demands have allegedly put off Dortmund, but it has not deterred United, who are understood to be very keen on signing the brilliant midfielder.

United’s midfield lacked technical excellence and ability to dictate the tempo of the game all season.

Both Manuel Ugarte and Casemiro are not very comfortable with the ball at their feet, and Bruno Fernandes isn’t a volume passer.

Kobbie Mainoo, meanwhile, is yet to find a proper role under Amorim, with the United head coach seemingly unconvinced with his ability to defend in midfield.

A player of Jashari’s potential could raise the technical floor of the side and help United build from the back more frequently.

However, it is suggested the youngster isn’t very fond of the idea of moving to Old Trafford due to United’s inability to offer European football.
