Manchester United’s right flank has been a problem position for sometime now. Erik ten Hag thought Antony’s arrival would fix the issue, but the Brazilian has failed to shine in red.
He is expected to be moved on under Ruben Amorim. Both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho prefer the left flank, which leaves Amad Diallo as the only suitable option.
It is clear that another right-sided profile is needed and Calciomercato have claimed that the Red Devils are keeping an eye on Christian Pulisic of AC Milan.
The American has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and is in scintillating form, scoring seven times while registering five assists in 15 games this season.
The Serie A has suited the 26-year-old, who had scored 15 times in the previous campaign as well while also getting 11 assists. But he has unfinished business in the Premier League after a disappointing spell at Chelsea.
Liverpool and West Ham United are two other teams in the race but the Rossoneri consider the US international as “irreplaceble” and “unsellable”.
They will only entertain thoughts of moving him on should anyone bid over €60 million for his services, with the investors set make a huge profit on their initial outlay.
“The Milan of the present continues to speak American and its Captain America, Christian Pulisic continues to be a fundamental cornerstone of this team… Very important performances that have not gone unnoticed.
“The most important recalls are coming from the Premier League. Pulisic is instead very much liked by Liverpool, with the future of the US playmaker inevitably intertwined with the possible early farewell of Federico Chiesa returning to Serie A (Milan is there, but so is Inter).
“And also by Manchester United and West Ham of Amorim and Lopetegui who are looking for a top-level signing to lift a deficient ranking but with a Champions League spot still largely within reach.”
The Milan giants had got him for only €21 million last summer with the US star’s deal valid until 2027. And Pulisic is relatively young and his knowledge of the English game makes him a perfect fit for INEOS.
However, Milan’s valuation and the fact that Amorim’s system might not involve out-and-out wingers or attacking midfielders makes a pursuit of the American highly redundant at the moment.
