The Portuguese pair have set the Red Devils on a rare unbeaten run
Ruben Amorim has highlighted Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo as key to improving Manchester United’s results this season.
United were slow off the mark in the new campaign, only winning one of their first five matches, but are now unbeaten in four.
That is largely down to the contributions of summer signings Cunha and Mbeumo, who have reinvigorated the Red Devil’s struggling front three.
Speaking on the Men in Blazers Show, Amorim lauded the transformative effects of the pair’s mentality.
He said: “Cunha is a maverick who does things that are hard to find in some players.
“He plays with the ball, but he has an aura that can do something to the opponent's heads. And that is really important.
“Bryan (Mbeumo) is really direct, and we missed that last year.
“You can sense when the ball is going to our defender, he is already running to position. This kind of small things that people don't see are massive to turn our team into a more dangerous team.”

Amorim also highlighted Harry Maguire’s contributions, pointing out that the growing emphasis on set-pieces suited the defender’s aerial abilities.
“Our league in this moment is a lot of set pieces. The first goal, a lot of times, is a set piece.
“[Maguire] is so strong defending set pieces and he is really strong attacking set pieces, so everything together.
“Give us a player with a lot of experience, to play the game.
“That is massive, especially for the moment of our club.”

He is refusing to rest on his laurels as results improve, though, saying the wins have not lightened his burden. Rather, he is focused on keeping his side consistent.
Amorim continued: “It's hard to find relief as a manager because you always have the next game.
“Winning, that is the best feeling in the world, but I feel it is getting shorter.
“That is funny. Maybe because I want to win the next one, because I know that I cannot control everything. But there is no better feeling, not just winning.
“But see, my team is not playing well. When I see my team, like, against Liverpool, against Brighton, the way we ran, when we train one thing during the week and they are doing these things, it is the best feeling in the world for me. I really love my job.”
Amorim acknowledged, though, that United’s difficult run - unfamiliar to him after successful earlier spells with Sporting CP and Braga - has improved him as a manager.
“During my career as a coach, I just knew winning. I had some bad moments, but it was all about winning, good moments.
“Now I understand that in the bad moments, my convictions are the same, and I can deal with the pressure and I can maintain my way of thinking under pressure. I didn't know that as a manager in the past.
“So that gives me more strength for the future. Because I know that this will have bad moments again. And I will be better prepared for that.”
