Roma’s transfer market could see a significant acceleration in the coming hours, both in terms of incoming and outgoing players.
After a slow first two weeks, several moves are expected from the Trigoria club, and sporting director Tony D’Amico could soon complete several deals.
One of the players who could leave Trigoria during this transfer window is Manu Koné, who is making a splash at the World Cup with France.
The Frenchman’s number 6 will play tonight at 9:00 PM against Spain and, if they win, will face either England or Argentina.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the French midfielder’s move to Manchester United is still on the cards.
Although the Red Devils have already secured two signings in that department (Tielemans and Andrey Santos), Michael Carrick’s side is keen on a third midfielder, this time a more defensive one.
Koné’s name should therefore be kept under close scrutiny, and Gian Piero Gasperini himself, just a few days ago, hinted that a “luxury sacrifice” might be necessary for budgetary reasons. The Giallorossi are willing to listen to offers for the former Monchengladbach player, provided they are no less than €50 million.
