Manchester United have submitted a second bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.
That is according to the Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler, who says the Old Trafford club’s bid is worth £45 million plus £5 million in potential add-ons.
United had an opening bid of £35m plus add-ons rejected last month, with Everton valuing the 22-year-old at near double the price.
Branthwaite, who spent a season on loan at PSV working under impending United coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, had a breakout campaign last year, making 41 appearances for Sean Dyche’s side and earning his first call-up to the England squad.
Erik ten Hag is reportedly looking to add two centre-backs to his squad, with talks ongoing with Bayern Munich over Matthijs de Ligt.
