France international midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni (26) has reached an agreement with Real Madrid over a contract extension, according to RMC Sport. Tchouaméni’s future in the Spanish capital was in question with Manchester United thought to be interested in his services.
The Telegraph reported today that the Girondins de Bordeaux Academy graduate was a serious target to spearhead the Red Devils’ midfield rebuild, although douts lingered regarding a transfer fee. Those doubts appear to be quashed with Tchouaméni committing his future with José Mourinho’s Real Madrid.
The France international midfielder joined Los Merengues in 2022 from AS Monaco in a blockbuster €100m move, penning a six-year deal. In Madrid, Tchouaméni will stick around with Real’s French contingent, which currently includes Ferland Mendy, Ibrahima Konaté, Eduardo Camavinga and Kylian Mbappé. Tchouaméni’s new Real Madrid deal reportedly expires in 2031.
