Manchester United and Chelsea clash in a high-profile Premier League fixture at Old Trafford today.
United are aiming to bounce back from defeat in the Manchester derby, with recent reports claiming that the pressure is increasing on head coach Ruben Amorim.
There are even suggestions that Amorim has three games to save his job, starting with the visit of Chelsea, who saw their unbeaten start to the season come to an end against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Enzo Maresca’s side gave a decent account of themselves on their return to Europe’s top table, but were ultimately punished by individual mistakes at the Allianz Arena.
Still, the Blues do not have much time to feel sorry for themselves as another huge fixture is on the horizon as they look to send out a message to their title rivals.
Manchester United vs Chelsea is scheduled for a 5.30pm BST kick-off on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The match will take place at Old Trafford in Manchester.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on Sky Sports. Coverage will begin at 5pm BST on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
Live stream: Sky Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Sky Go app.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog, with expert analysis from Simon Collings at the ground.
Free highlights: The Sky Sports app and YouTube channel will show highlights shortly after the final whistle with Match of the Day broadcasting on BBC One at 10.30pm BST.
United have Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount available for selection again after the attacking duo missed the Manchester derby last weekend through injury.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Amorim confirmed that the game comes too soon for Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez.
Deadline Day signing Senne Lammens could make his debut after another unconvincing goalkeeping display from Altay Bayindir against City. Elsewhere, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro are pushing for starts.
Chelsea are set to be without Levi Colwill, Liam Delap, Benoit Badiashile, Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo for the trip to Old Trafford, leaving Maresca short of options.
Cole Palmer could be restored to the No10 role despite impressing on the right wing against Bayern, while Joao Pedro is set to lead the line once again.
Former United winger Alejandro Garnacho could make his full Chelsea debut on his old stomping ground after successive substitute appearances and Estevao is pushing for a recall.

On paper, all signs point towards a Chelsea victory. However, there are plenty of factors to consider. One being this will be the Blues’ third tough away game in a row and another is their poor record at Old Trafford.
Furthermore, these are the kind of games where United typically rise to the occasion and produce a performance to provide hope for supporters.
All things considered, we are predicting a share of the points which is a result that doesn’t suit either side.
Draw, 1-1.
Chelsea are unbeaten against United in three after taking four points off the Red Devils last season. Though, you have to go all the way back to May 2013 for their last win at Old Trafford.
