Red Devils looking to extend unbeaten pre-season run
Manchester United take on Fiorentina at Old Trafford in their final pre-season game this afternoon.
Ruben Amorim’s side face the Serie A club today ahead of the Premier League kick-off next weekend, when United host Arsenal on Sunday, August 17.
The Red Devils are unbeaten in their warm-up fixtures to date, having won two and drawn one of their Premier League Summer Series matches in the United States over the last two weeks.
They beat West Ham 2-1 and Bournemouth 4-1 before an entertaining 2-2 draw with Everton sealed them the title in Atlanta, Georgia.
New signings Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo played their first minutes together against the Toffees, and linked up well to get United fans excited for the season ahead.
That excitement will grow with top target Benjamin Sesko set to be unveiled ahead of kick-off.
Manchester United vs Fiorentina is scheduled for a 12.45pm BST kick-off today, Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The game will take place at Old Trafford.
TV channel: The game will be shown live on MUTV, with annual subscriptions costing £29.99.
Live stream: The match will also be streamed live on Manchester United’s official website and app.
Live blog: You can also follow all the action with Standard Sport’s live blog!
There are still a few names that Amorim will be sweating over with just over a week to go until the season starts for real.
First-choice goalkeeper Andre Onana has been out for the entirety of pre-season with a hamstring injury, although the Cameroonian did say that he hoped to be back in time for the start of the league season.
Lisandro Martinez continues his comeback from an ACL issue, while Joshua Zirkzee could feature here after a couple of weeks out with a minor niggle.
Noussair Mazraoui could miss out completely with a muscular injury after being sidelined for the win over Bournemouth and the draw with Everton.
As for Fiorentina, exciting forward Christian Kouame is their only absentee, as he is ruled out until November with a cruciate ligament problem.
United started to look like a well-oiled machine going forwards as their pre-season tour of the United States wore on.
Against Everton, Cunha and Mbeumo looked dangerous alongside Bruno Fernandes in the attacking trio, while Amad Diallo was electric from right wing-back.
However, there were still holes and mistakes at the back that Amorim will want to tidy up.
Still, they should have too much for Fiorentina here.
