Matheus Cunha is in line to make his first start under Michael Carrick when Manchester United face Fulham at Old Trafford.

Cunha has been a substitute in Carrick’s first two games in charge but United will be forced into a reshuffle in attack after losing Patrick Dorgu a hamstring injury.

Carrick has different options but Cunha is pushing to start ahead of Mason Mount on the left after his brilliant winner against Arsenal last weekend.

Amad Diallo is set to be on the right, with Bruno Fernandes at No10 and Bryan Mbuemo leading the line.

Other than that enforced change after losing Dorgu, Carrick is unlikely to tinker too much with his team after back-to-back wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.

Kobbie Mainoo is set to continue alongside Casemiro in midfield.

Noussair Mazraoui is an option to come in for Diogo Dalot at right-back but the back four is likely to remain the same.

Harry Maguire will partner Lisandro Martinez at centre-back, with Luke Shaw at left-back.

Dorgu is set to miss around 10 weeks with the hamstring injury he suffered against Arsenal.

Carrick said: “[It's] disappointing, he's had such a big couple of weeks.

“We weren't sure whether it was a little bit of cramp or whether it was something a little bit more serious and at the moment it looks a little bit more on the serious note.

“That's disappointing for all of us really, and for Pat. He's in such a good place but unfortunately it is part of football and it's something we've got to work through and get him back as soon as we can.”

Joshua Zirkzee has returned to training this week and could be involved, amid ongoing uncertainty over his future.

Matthijs de Ligt is still not ready to return due to his back issue.

Predicted Manchester United XI: Lammens; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Fernandes, Cunha; Mbeumo

Injured: Dorgu, De Ligt

Doubt: Zirkzee
