Leeds United face Sunderland in the US tomorrow night with transfer work ramping up on a club-record 30 million move for James Trafford. Free agent Harry Wilson has already featured against Wrexham. If Trafford lands, the Whites will have addressed their three priority positions.
Former loan hero Manor Solomon, whose winner at Plymouth sealed Leeds’ Championship title, is eyeing a permanent exit from Tottenham this summer, Daily Mail reports. Recently-relegated West Ham United are interested and he could, as at Elland Road, replace the outgoing Crysencio Summerville.
Solomon joined on loan in 2024 after Summerville’s 38m move to West Ham, delivering 10 goals, 13 assists and that added-time decider at Plymouth. Leeds passed on a 2025/26 reunion and later loans at Villarreal and Fiorentina underwhelmed.
Ipswich Town have signed Royale Union Saint-Gilloise goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen on a four-year deal believed to be worth around 31 million. At 6ft 9ins he will be the tallest player in Premier League history, after 21 clean sheets in 43 games last season.
Jordan Henderson has left Brentford by mutual consent amid surprise Chelsea interest and talks are progressing. If he signs at Stamford Bridge, he would join Danny Welbeck, whose move from Brighton is all but confirmed, indicating a shift in policy.
