Fulham manager Marco Silva is the leading candidate to take the reins at Nottingham Forest, according to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo just over a month ago, but his tenure ended after just eight games across all competitions, during which he suffered six defeats.

While Forest are also considering other candidates such as Sean Dyche and Robert Mancini, Silva is believed to be currently at the front of the queue.

He was courted by Tottenham Hotspur last summer before they appointed Thomas Frank.

Silva has a strong track record of stabilising teams and getting the best out of his squads, qualities that Forest desperately need after a turbulent start to their season.

The 48-year-old is valued by key figures within the Forest hierarchy, partly due to his previous working relationship with the club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, during their time together at Olympiacos.

Having been at Craven Cottage since 2021, Silva is in the final year of his current Fulham contract, which includes a release clause, and Forest are reportedly willing to pay to get their man.

The Tricky Trees are ready to back Silva or whoever they hire next in the upcoming January transfer window.

Forest are expected to intensify their managerial search this week, although it is unlikely that they will finalise an appointment before Thursday’s Europa League clash against Porto.
