Marco Silva is not interested in signing Raphael Guerreiro for Benfica, according to Glorioso 1904.

The left-back is leaving Bayern Munich and, as a devoted supporter, the Portugal international viewed a move to Benfica positively. The coach will not give the transfer the go-ahead.

Profile and physique are cited among the reasons. The former Fulham manager wants a more defensively minded, taller left-back, with Guerreiro at 1.70m. He is seeking a more robust option.

Age is also a factor, with the player turning 33 in December. Benfica’s new cycle stresses balance between experience and future return, so this profile is not seen as an immediate priority.

In 2025/26 for Bayern, Guerreiro, valued at 5 million euros, made 29 appearances, 18 in the Bundesliga, seven in the Champions League, three in the German Cup and one in the Super Cup. Across 1,210 minutes, he recorded six goals and two assists.
