Benfica will face Flamengo on 11 July at Estádio Algarve, the match concluding the Brazilians' tour and carrying the Algarve Trophy. According to Glorioso 1904, it will headline the visitors' stay in Portugal.

Leonardo Jardim's squad will spend two weeks in the south, split between Lagos and Estoi. The Benfica meeting will be their third and final friendly on Portuguese soil.

Before facing Benfica, Flamengo will play River Plate and Lausanne-Sport as part of their tune-up for competitive action.

Benfica, now led by Marco Silva, have a demanding pre-season, with UEFA Europa League qualifying starting on 23 July against St. Gallen of Switzerland.

Flamengo's Algarve stop is said to have stemmed from a request by Jardim's staff to include Portugal in their plans. Logistical issues and scheduling limits are understood to have complicated arrangements, with Argentina considered before a more favourable European proposal prevailed.

The fixture also brings a reunion for Everton Cebolinha, the winger having left Benfica for Flamengo in 2022 for €13.5 million.
