Marco Silva made a low-key visit to Benfica Campus in Seixal as pre-season approaches, reviewing the squad and shaping plans. Record reports that the Portuguese coach has begun groundwork for the coming campaign.
He met with director-general for football Mário Branco and chief scout Patrick Dippel. The meeting assessed players under contract and potential needs in the market.
He wants to understand existing resources in depth before any new signings. No overhaul is planned at this stage, with priority on evaluating who fits the 2026/27 project.
Silva spent several hours at the training centre alongside Branco, familiarising himself with the facilities and workspaces to be used daily when training officially begins on 25 June.
His presence caught some staff by surprise. The visit was kept discreet, signalling a desire to gain time on preparations and speed up Benfica’s sporting plan for the new season.
