Chelsea won on Wednesday night against Wolves, but it was one of those wins which brought as much bad energy as a defeat.
Not only did Chelsea conceded 3 goals having led 3-0 at half time, they also got yet another red card. Enzo Maresca was furious about Liam Delap’s actions when he spoke in the post game press conference on the night, and today, while calmer, it was still very much on the agenda.

Maresca was in denial about his team having a “discipline problem” as the red cards mounted up, but he has now been forced to admit there’s an issue that he’s spoken to the group about as the stats strayed into the ridiculous.
“I think that some of the red cards that we conceded, we could have avoided them,” Maresca conceded.
“It’s also something that we need to learn. Something that we have to do better. And for sure, no doubt that in the future we’re going to be better also on that.
“No, I didn’t need to speak with Liam. I spoke with Liam, but Liam, he knows everything. He’s aware of the situation. He knows that he made a mistake. And full stop. No more than that,” the manager responded when asked if he had spoken to Delap after the game.
All eyes will be on Chelsea’s conduct in a potentially fiery derby game against Tottenham tomorrow. Everyone had better be on their best behaviour…
The Chelsea manager also gave a really interesting answer on the role that Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo could play in tomorrow’s game.
Maresca also used this press conference to talk about long throws, the hot topic in the Premier League right now.
