Enzo Maresca has insisted Nicolas Jackson can do “many things” better despite the striker’s good start to the season.
The Blues have exceeded expectations and currently sit fourth, three points ahead of Newcastle in fifth and on track to qualify for the Champions League at this stage of the campaign.
Maresca has adapted to life really well at Chelsea but now faces his first test, with the Blues winless in their last three and on a two game losing streak.
Chelsea are still in a very good position and it’s not all doom and gloom, whilst the Italian has also been able to improve a number of players.
Jackson falls into the category along with the likes of Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, and the Senegalese has nine league goals this season.

The 23-year-old has established himself as Chelsea’s first choice striker and he’s currently keeping the more established Christopher Nkunku out of the side.
Jackson has certainly improved his finishing from last season, although like all strikers he does still miss chances, but Thierry Henry thinks he’s on his way to becoming the real deal.
Darren Bent feels the Senegal international is perfect for how Chelsea play given his all round game, but Maresca believes there’s still many things Jackson can do better.
“He can do many things better, he’s doing already very good, as you said he probably scored nine goals and last year he scored 14, so he scored most of the goals he scored last year,” he told his pre-match press conference.

“So hopefully he can score more goals, he can help us, but we are completely happy with Nico and the reason why he didn’t play the last game against Ipswich is because we have also more players that can help us.”
Jackson will likely return to the starting line-up against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon and will be hoping to score his tenth league goal of the season and return Chelsea to winning ways.
