Le Progres reports that European runners-up OL Lyonnes have made their first summer signing, landing Bayern Munich goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs on a one-year deal as a free agent.
Born in Münster, Grohs joined Bayern in 2019 and was largely a back-up in the past two seasons. This term she understudied compatriot Ena Mahmutovic, starting nine league games, keeping seven clean sheets and recording an 88% save rate. She started Champions League wins over Juventus on 16 October and Arsenal on 12 November, 2-1 and 3-2.
Her development began in boys’ football before moving to Bochum’s women at 15. For Bayern she played 106 matches, 24 for the reserves without conceding, and 82 for the first team.
She faced Lyon in the 2025 Champions League quarter-finals, suffering 2-0 and 4-1 defeats.
Grohs, nicknamed Mala, won five Bundesliga titles in 2021, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026, plus the German Cup in 2025 and 2026 and the Supercup in 2024 and 2025.
She is expected to replace Teagan Micah in numerical terms. Micah has been under protocol for more than four months after a head injury in February on the eve of a trip to PSG, and her contract ends on 30 June.
If Micah’s departure is confirmed, it would be a second goalkeeping exit after Lou Marchal, who was third choice and debuted late in the 3-1 win over Montpellier on 6 May. Christiane Endler and Féerine Belhadj now enter the final year of their deals.
