Mário Bittencourt urges members: The stands should pick the president

With the progress of the Fluminense elections this Saturday (29), the supporter of candidate Mattheus Montenegro and current club president, Mário Bittencourt, called on eligible voters to attend the Salão Nobre de Laranjeiras and highlighted that the Tricolor is the only club among the four major clubs in the state that includes the fan-member in the election process.

Once again taking the opportunity to ask people to leave their homes to vote, come and vote for their candidates. Interestingly, there is a voting history, which does not necessarily mean that the number of voters is greater because there are more eligible voters... For example, in 2016, the number of eligible voters was smaller than in 2019 and 2022, and we had more voters in 2016 than in 2019 and 2022. I believe that given the number of eligible voters this year, we will have a record turnout... Therefore, I reinforce the request to all fans, club members, contributors, owners, and fan-members. Asserting, we are the only club among the four major clubs in Rio de Janeiro where the fan-member has the right to elect the club president. In other words, the stands have the right to elect the club president.” - declared Bittencourt.

The current president was first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2022. In six years of his term, he participated in the management that won the Libertadores in 2023, the Recopa in 2024, and the Campeonato Carioca in 2022 and 2023.
