Benjamin Pavard’s (30) loan spell at Olympique de Marseille has not lived up to expectations. The World Cup winner arrived at the club in the summer to bring experience and calm to the OM defence. Ultimately, he has brought neither. Disappointed, OM do not wish to make the France international’s move permanent at the end of the season, as per a report from RMC Sport.
Inter Milan were keen to offload Pavard in the summer and succeeded in loaning the Frenchman out to OM. He has featured prominently under Roberto De Zerbi and now under Habib Beye. But his performances have been below expectations.
Pavard’s buy option was valued at €15m. As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Inter Milan were willing to lower that option in order to facilitate the defender’s departure. But despite that, Marseille are still unwilling to do a deal.
He will, therefore, not remain at the Vélodrome, and Inter Milan are not keen on keeping him. His future for Pavard, may lie elsewhere.
