Marten De Roon sets Atalanta appearances record against Hellas Verona | OneFootball

Marten De Roon has set a new benchmark at Atalanta, becoming the club’s all-time appearance maker during the Serie A match against Hellas Verona. The Dutch midfielder moved to 436 outings on Sunday, 22 March 2026, eclipsing Gianpaolo Bellini’s 435.

He marked the milestone with an open letter to supporters. The player said in a post that it capped a journey that began with his debut against Cittadella in August 2015.

De Roon reflected on a strong bond with the city and the shirt, saying he has felt the fans’ backing in good times and especially in difficult moments, and that they face everything together.

He also paid tribute to former captain Gianpaolo Bellini, describing him as emblematic of Bergamo and of what it means to wear the Atalanta colours.

While celebrating the record, he stressed he is not finished, with a hunger to keep improving and to help bring more silverware. Since arriving in 2015/16, he has also set club marks for Serie A appearances, 332, and European appearances, 75.
