Harry Winks again looks set to miss out for Leicester City this weekend, with Marti Cifuentes declining to revisit questions about the absent midfielder while highlighting his team’s improved form.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Winks has been fit but left out of the last three squads, placing his future in doubt with the January window approaching and a little over six months left on his deal. Cifuentes has called it a technical decision and, when asked if the 29-year-old had played his last game, said there was no update and that he preferred to focus on players performing well.

The manager’s unchanged stance points to Winks being unlikely to feature at QPR, where he struck an excellent winner on City’s previous visit to Loftus Road two seasons ago.

City travel to the capital in one of their best spells this season, with seven points from nine, eight goals scored and a plus four goal difference, their strongest three-match return of the campaign.

Cifuentes suggested the upturn reflects pride in the badge and a cultural shift he has pursued since arriving. He said the side worked hard at Ipswich, playing well for about 70 minutes before conceding, and that responding after Bristol City demanded character. He added that alignment, attitude and the Foxes Never Quit mindset remain the foundation, alongside the fearless football they want to produce more consistently.
