Martin Odegaard is not set to leave Arsenal for Galatasaray this summer, with talk of an Emirates exit dismissed as false.
According to Goal.com, reports from Türkiye that Galatasaray had agreed personal terms with the 27-year-old are inaccurate and there is no truth in the links.
Odegaard is happy to stay and Arsenal want to keep their Premier League-winning captain. He is expected to play a key role in the title defence, while his focus remains on Norway’s World Cup campaign.
He joined in 2021, initially on loan before a permanent move, and was named captain in 2022 after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and interim skipper Alexandre Lacazette departed. The 2025-26 campaign was his best since arriving, on and off the pitch.
Last season he lifted the Premier League, Arsenal’s first top-flight crown in 22 years, and reached the Champions League final, where Paris Saint-Germain prevailed.
He has made 234 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 42 goals, has lifted the Community Shield, and has twice been the club’s Player of the Season, in 2022-23 and 2023-24.
With Norway, he has started three of four World Cup matches, missing only the final group game against France. Norway have won each of his starts and he assisted in wins over Iraq, Senegal and the Ivory Coast in the Round of 32. He has 71 caps, five goals, and has captained his country since 2021, with this Norway’s first World Cup since 1998.
