Gabriel Martinelli says he is “happy and honoured” to be managed by both Mikel Arteta and Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazilian is currently on World Cup duty with his country, after being apart of the Arsenal team that won the Premier League for the first time in 22-years and narrowly missing out on the Champions League.
Martinelli has featured once so far this tournament, with the Selecao sitting top of Group C, level on points with Morocco.
The 25-year-old spoke of the differences of playing under both his club manager Arteta, and international manager Ancelotti, with the forward deployed on differing sides.
“I think it’s very different,” Martinelli said. “Each team has its own way of playing. When I play on the right wing at Arsenal, it’s completely different from playing on the right wing here, so it depends on who will be playing next to me there, what formation we’ll use.

“It’s definitely much easier for me to be on the right wing, go to the end line and cross, or go a bit more inside to have the full-back passing option, so it really depends on the formation and who is playing beside me.
“No, I said that I particularly prefer to play on the left, but since I played a lot at Arsenal two seasons ago because Bukayo Saka got injured there, I can do it easily. If they tell me to play as a right-back, I say, of course, you can put me.
“The styles of the two are quite different. As you mentioned, when I get here, I have to switch gears, but they are two great coaches who… I am very happy and honoured to be working with them. Mikel Arteta there and Carlo Ancelotti here.”
