SV Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch suffered a calf injury during the first training session of pre-season on Monday. MRI scans carried out by team doctor Dr. Philip Heitmann have shown that the 31-year-old has suffered a muscular injury, which will mean several weeks on the sidelines.

“It’s disappointing for us but especially for Marvin because he will now miss important weeks of pre-season. We will give him the best possible support to get him back with his teammates as soon as possible,” explained head coach Horst Steffen.
