FLW's Birmingham City fan pundit has given his verdict on Marvin Ducksch being charged with drink-driving
Birmingham City have been unable to sustain a Championship promotion push this season under Chris Davies, with their campaign very much petering out.
Blues earned promotion to the second tier last year with a record point total of 111, winning the League One title in the process.
The Midlands outfit were hoping to take that momentum forward and compete at the top end of the second division straight away, but have been unable to manage that.
Pressure has mounted on Davies, with speculation now surrounding his future ahead of what could be a very busy summer at St. Andrew’s.
Birmingham have been given a further headache by 2025 summer signing Marvin Ducksch, who has been reportedly charged with drink-driving following a crash, which happened just hours after City were defeated by Ipswich Town on Easter Monday at Portman Road - the incident happened in Henley-in-Arden, which is the same village where the club's training ground is located.
The German international has expressed his desire to apologize to teammates, staff and supporters following a three-car collision, with the club confirming the matter has been dealt with internally.

When asked if Ducksch has a future at the club following this incident, FLW’s Birmingham fan pundit Jason Moore has criticised the forward’s actions and believes that he should be sold as soon as the market opens.
He claimed that these actions are unacceptable and do not represent the Championship side, and he expects the striker to be sold amid speculation last month that Real Sociedad are interested in his signature.
“My immediate thoughts are he’s an absolute idiot, there’s absolutely no excuses for it,” Moore told Football League World.
“No one at all should be drink-driving, anyone with a brain knows the dangers of it.
“But he’s a professional footballer, what on earth is he doing?
“So, I’m on board with the reaction I’ve seen from most Blues fans, it looks highly likely he was going anyway, but now he’s just fully cemented that. Get gone.
“The second that window opens, get your move to Real Sociedad or whoever wants him, just get him gone.
“Go and find a proper number 10, absolutely not good enough and it’s a joke, to be honest.
“Don’t have much more to say about it than that, just get rid of him.”
Ducksch was signed by Birmingham following their promotion to the Championship, with the 32-year-old arriving from Werder Bremen.
The Blues reportedly paid £1.7 million for his signature, but he has struggled for consistent game time under Davies.
It’s possible that Ducksch has already played his final game for the club, having made 32 appearances in the Championship.
He’s contributed 10 goals and one assists from 25 starts, with Birmingham 15th in the table with only four games to go.
The forward was absent from the team’s recent 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town, with Davies citing an internal matter for the reason behind his absence.
The Midlands outfit ended a three-game losing run with a 2-0 victory over Wrexham on Sunday, but the gap to the play-offs is still 12 points, leaving them effectively out of the running for a top six finish.
Football players represent their clubs at all times, and Ducksch has let Birmingham down with this incident.
It is unacceptable to drink and drive, and he will deserve the consequences of his actions both within the club and with whatever comes from his charge by the police.
It’s very possible that he’s played his final game for the team, as it’s difficult to imagine him coming back into the team following such a high profile incident.
This is the standard that clubs need to set to make it clear to players that their actions do have consequences, and Birmingham can set a good example for the game to follow with a proper reaction.
