Multiple outlets are reporting that Argentine talent Franco Mastantuono is on the verge of completing his loan move to Fiorentina after the Viola struck an agreement on the division of the teenager’s salary with his parent club, Real Madrid.
Mastantuono, who will turn 19 next week, is set to join Fabio Grosso’s Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal. Despite brief suggestions that the two clubs were exploring the potential inclusion of an option to buy, this will be a straight loan deal and the teenager will return to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2027.

Mastantuono had given his go-ahead to joining Fiorentina on Tuesday, and according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the only obstacle to overcome after that was an agreement with Real Madrid on how to share the player’s salary.
The two clubs have since reached an agreement on that front as well, and now the 18-year-old is all set to join Fiorentina for the 2026-27 season.
Despite having four Argentina caps to his name, Mastantuono will not take up a valuable non-EU slot in Fiorentina’s squad due to his Italian passport.
