Brentford B will be seeking their first points in the Premier League Cup when they take on Luton Town Under-21s on Tuesday night (7pm kick-off BST).

Sam Saunders' side lost their Group E opener and will look to bounce back on their travels at Kenilworth Road.

Having fallen to a narrow 1-0 defeat to Exeter City Reserves in early October, the young Bees will be hoping to record their first win in the 2025/26 competition.

Luton fell to the same fate as Brentford in their opening game, also losing 1-0 to the Grecians at St James Park.

Last season, the west Londoners made it all the way to the final of the Premier League Cup, losing out to QPR Under-21s in the final.

"We lost against Exeter but I don't think the performance deserved that result," said Saunders.

"I thought we played really well and dominated the game; we had 16 chances and they had three, but ultimately they got the points.

"We should've been more clinical. We asked the boys for that against QPR and they showed that."

He added: "You have to look at performances more than the result and I had no doubt that the boys would bounce back.

"The training levels have been really high, there's lots of competition for places and the games are coming thick and fast.

"Everyone's excited and looking forward to Luton now to put the Exeter result right.

"Stadium games are great for us and the group; our job is to get the boys as many first-team experiences as they can, and having fans there under the lights is a huge part of that."

Last Time Out

The Bees put on a scintillating display at Gtech Community Stadium, beating QPR Under-21s 4-0 under the lights in the west London derby.

First-team players Benjamin Arthur, Romelle Donovan, Vitaly Janelt, Ellery Balcombe, Myles Peart-Harris and Reiss Nelson all featured from the start, with Gustavo Nunes replacing Nelson for the second half.

Donovan opened the scoring with a fantastic solo run and finish, before the winger's corner set up Josh Stephenson to head home shortly after half-time.

Donovan then added a second assist when he found Iwan Morgan, who finished exquisitely, before Peart-Harris converted Michael Olakigbe's low cross to round off an emphatic victory.

There was another positive for Saunders' side as Conor McManus returned from a spell on the sidelines to play the final 12 minutes.
