Brentford B travel to The Alexander Stadium on Friday night to face West Bromwich Albion Under-21s in Premier League Cup action (7pm kick-off).

The fixture caps off a busy week for the young Bees, who beat Exeter City on Monday night at Wheatsheaf Park.

Halfway through the group stages of the PL Cup, the west Londoners sit second, with two wins from three outings.

Sam Saunders’ side remain one point behind leaders Exeter, although they have one game in hand. They sit two points above West Brom, but the Baggies have played one match fewer.

The lead up to Christmas could decide Brentford's PL Cup destiny, with a home clash against West Brom to come on 8 December and Luton Town set to visit west London on 14 December.

After a goalless opening half against Exeter at home, the Bees dominated the second 45 minutes to win 3-0 and close the gap on the Grecians.

Josh Stephenson got the ball rolling with a superb header just before the hour mark.

Substitute Kyrie Pierre had an immediate impact after coming on, running onto Ollie Shield’s cross and smashing the ball home for his first Brentford goal.

Striker Michel Boni followed suit soon after with a powerful strike from the edge of the box to ensure all three points.

The Baggies kicked off their PL Cup campaign with a tense goalless draw against Exeter at home, before enjoying a 5-1 victory away at Luton.
