Leeds United forward Mateo Joseph has hailed 'big changes' as he comes back from a season at RCD Mallorca and an injury lay-off.

The player said in a post that "Small improvements these past few weeks are starting to turn into big changes, we continue to build", alongside gym images in Leeds training kit.

Last summer he informed the club he did not feel ready to travel to Sweden for a pre-season friendly with Manchester United, then chose not to join the training camp in Germany.

He later told head coach Daniel Farke he wanted a move back to Spain, and Leeds would only consider a loan. Real Betis showed interest, Mallorca also did, and he joined the latter on a season-long loan.

Joseph made 30 appearances for Mallorca, scoring two goals and providing four assists. His season ended in April when he suffered an ACL injury that left him facing at least a few months out.

He returns to Elland Road this summer with his next step uncertain, and his contract runs until the summer of 2028.
