Mateusz Klich names Marcelo Bielsa as key influence from Leeds spell | OneFootball

"Marcelo Bielsa," said Mateusz Klich when reflecting on the best influences of his career. He was speaking to ALFA FOOTBALL.

The 35-year-old is a cult figure at Leeds, making 195 appearances, more than 100 more than he has managed anywhere else. He helped the club return to the Premier League in 2020.

Under Bielsa, Klich played 157 times, scoring 22 and providing 21 assists, and was arguably one of Leeds' best performers in that period. Now the Cracovia No.43, he still speaks warmly about his former coach.

The admiration went both ways, with Bielsa once stating that Klich "can play in all the best teams in the world". It was lofty praise from the Argentine.

Though both are now past their Leeds days, Bielsa is set to return to England in March for Uruguay's friendly with the Three Lions during the international break. Those not called up by their nations could head to Wembley and potentially catch up with the Leeds legend.
