His camp fear the lay-off could disrupt his competitive rhythm over the coming months, raising concern about his build-up towards the tournament.

Uruguay are due to open on 15 June against Saudi Arabia, then face Cape Verde on 21 June. They finish the first phase against Spain on 26 June.

Viña is on loan from Flamengo to River until December. This season he has made 14 appearances with an average of 64 minutes per game, and he has not been involved in a goal yet.
