AS reports that Alan Matturro and Jeremy Toljan will miss next Sunday’s derby against Valencia at the Ciutat. Matturro is suspended after a direct red, while the German full-back must serve a ban for a fifth yellow card.

Matturro lasted only 18 minutes at San Mamés in the incident that shaped the match. Tussling with Iñaki Williams as the last man, with both players grappling, referee Muñiz Ruiz dismissed the Levante defender in a controversial call.

In Matturro’s absence, Luís Castro can turn to Unai Elgezabal, who scored on his return after surgery on his external meniscus, or to Matías Moreno. The latter should be available after missing the squad due to the heavy blow he suffered with Sorloth.

Toljan’s absence is more significant. Víctor García remains injured, though his return appears close, and he is the only natural option in the first team.

Castro is also considering Dela, who performed well at full-back last season in Segunda, and academy product Nacho Pérez, already a Copa del Rey debutant. The Portuguese has shown he is willing to back in-form youngsters.
