Real Madrid were on the receiving end of perhaps their most humiliating defeat, especially in a final, in recent times at the hands of their arch-rivals, FC Barcelona.

Not many positives from this match, barring the Merengue attacking trio. Other than that, it was abysmal.

Here is how the Real Madrid players fared against FC Barcelona.

Player ratings:

Thibaut Courtois: 6.0

Made three good saves in the match including two from inside the box. Could not have done much to at least four off the five goals conceded.

Lucas Vazquez: 3.0

Absolutely ran ragged throughout his time on the pitch – as expectedly to say the least. Raphinha took him to the cleaners and made his life miserable. If he had stayed on for the entire match, the scoreline would have been even more embarrassing.

Aurelien Tchouaméni: 3.5

Easily his worst game in a Madrid shirt. Easily could have helped prevent three of the five goals conceded. Has been a season to forget for him.

Antonio Rüdiger: 5.0

A game to forget for the German. Was stretched wide by Lamine Yamal for the first and dragged out of position by Lewandowski for Barca’s fifth goal.

Ferland Mendy: 5.5

Made a couple of good challenges on Lamine Yamal and did not make it easy for him. But the youngster ended up getting the better of Mendy. As always, offensively offered no threat.

Eduardo Camavinga: 3.0

Horrible outing for the Frenchman. Absolutely reckless challenge. It all blew apart after that. Got away without a receiving a second yellow in the first half itself. Gladly taken off at half-time.

Fede Valverde: 5.0

Made a couple of good challenges. Ripped apart by Raphinha for the fourth goal. Attempted just one shot from outside the box which was blocked. Played as a right back towards the end of the game.

Jude Bellingham: 4.0

Not a performance a Real Madrid fan would expect from the Englishman on the big stage. Made just 41 passes in the entire match. Nowhere to be seen in the first half. Had just one attempt at goal. It was evident that he was playing through a strain and might have been forced to play this fixture.

Rodrygo: 7.0

Was good on the ball. Constantly kept the attack going and tried his best. Finally got an opportunity to score a free kick which he did. One of the few bright spots of the match.

Kylian Mbappe: 8.0

The best player on the night and can go out with his head held high. Won as many as 11 duels, completed 8/9 dribbles. Looked at his best for the first goal. Got Szczęsny sent off. Almost scored his second but was prevented by Inaki Pena. Regardless of the result, this is the sort of performance expected from Mbappe.

Vinicius Junior: 5.5

Recorded an assist but other than that, did not do anything special. Made two key passes but did not even have a shot at goal. A shocking game from the supposed big game player.

Substitutes:

Dani Ceballos: 6.0

Held his ground and kept things simple. Did not offer much on the attacking front but was better than Camavinga in the Real Madrid midfield.

Raul Asencio: 6.5

Why he is not in the starting lineup on a regular basis is a question only Carlo Ancelotti can answer. Did not concede a single goal once he came on. Made a clearance, tackle and interception.

Luka Modric: 6.0

Made some good passes and misplaced a few too. Could not change the game though and struggled to break down Barcelona’s back line.

Fran García: 6.5

Made more cross in his 15-minute cameo than Mendy did in the 75 minutes. Brought energy into the match and made a key pass too.

Brahim Díaz: N/A

Came on for Vinicius and had just 8 touches in a 14-minute stint. Not enough to warrant a rating.
