Kylian Mbappe captain of France & Real Madrid forward has opened up in strikingly honest interview with L’Equipe.
The 26 year old admitted that while his passion keeps him playing, the world of football often leaves him with feelings of rejection.
"I’ve made peace with the fact that football's what it is today but life outside it's wonderful, If I didn’t have this passion, I would have felt disgusted by this world years ago"
His words come just days after shining for Les Bleus in World cup 2026 qualifiers scoring & assisting in the 2 - 1 win over Iceland at the Parc des Princes after also netting against Ukraine.
Since joining Real Madrid this summer and taking the iconic No10 shirt, Mbappe's scored four goals in just 3 La Liga games signaling strong return after trophyless 2024 /25 season.
"More money brings more problems, People want to keep the old image of you as kid but you're no longer that person. You've responsibilities & commitments that you're accountable for" Mbappe reflected.
He added that while some manage to adapt, many athletes & public figures face harsh realities:
"It doesn’t always go the way you want and we've to admit that"
In his most controversial statement, Mbappe confessed:
"I hope my children hate football and never get close to this world"
This candid admission has sparked widespread debate revealing the inner struggles of 1 of football’s biggest stars at the peak of his career.
