The relationship between PSG and Real Madrid has been far from cordial. Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president of the French club, has now initiated a reconciliation process.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, PSG’s president, and Florentino Pérez, president of Real Madrid, are hardly close allies. The reasons are well known. First, there was the long-awaited signing of Kylian Mbappé by Real Madrid, who ultimately joined Madrid on a free transfer after PSG had paid €180 million for him. The other sticking point is the controversial Super League project, which Florentino Pérez has staunchly supported.
However, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi now seems ready to bury the hatchet, extending an olive branch to the Madrid club during an event attended by both men, according to El Desmarque. “We are a family. We want everyone to come back, it’s true. Real Madrid as well, we want everyone to return. It’s their family and their home, it’s everyone’s home. So we don’t need another competition today, we already have the best club competition, with even better formats. That’s what we want, and that’s what Barcelona has always wanted. We’ll see what happens next.” declared the Parisian executive.
