Guillermo Ochoa debuted for Club América in 2004, taking the starting spot at 19 and shining in domestic and international competition.

In 2007 he was named the continent’s best goalkeeper and was among 50 Ballon d’Or nominees, something no other Mexican has matched.

His América form led to Europe, with spells at AC Ajaccio, Málaga CF, Granada CF, Standard Liège, US Salernitana 1919, AVS and AEL Limassol. He is the only Mexican goalkeeper to play for multiple European clubs.

At club level he won one Liga MX, one CONCACAF Champions League, one Campeón de Campeones and one Belgian Cup.

With the Mexico national team he was their best player at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups, producing standout displays against Brazil, Germany and Poland. He is also the record Gold Cup winner with six and lifted a CONCACAF Nations League title.
