Memphis Depay and Gabriel Paulista will miss Corinthians’ trip to Chapecoense on Thursday night in the seventh round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, according to Meu Timao.
The pair will not travel to Chapecó and will remain in São Paulo, focusing on Sunday’s match against Flamengo at Neo Química Arena.
Depay’s absence is tied to managing his recent workload, his expected Netherlands duty during the FIFA window, and the synthetic surface at Arena Condá. Paulista is being rested with the Clássico das Multidões in mind.
Both started the 1-1 draw with Santos on Sunday. Depay opened the scoring with a fine strike, then a defensive error by Paulista led to the equaliser.
Despite that, Rodrigo Garro, who struggled with knee injuries last season, is available to the coaching staff and has travelled with the squad to Santa Catarina.
Corinthians are seeking to end a run of five matches without a win, their longest under Dorival Júnior. They sit eighth on eight points, with Chapecoense 12th on six. Kick-off is 21:30 at Arena Condá.
