Memphis Depay attended the Netherlands' friendly against Norway at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on Friday while he recovers from a thigh strain.

The Corinthians forward was in the stands in an orange tie and blue cap, the national colours. According to Meu Timao, he attended the match.

He had been due to train with Ronald Koeman's group, but sustained a strain in the right anterior thigh during Corinthians' draw with Flamengo last Sunday, and was then omitted from the initial call-up.

Depay started the match at the Neo Química Arena but played only 20 minutes. He felt discomfort shortly before Yuri Alberto scored, having supplied the pre-assist to Matheus Bidu, who crossed for the number nine. He was replaced by Rodrigo Garro.

At the request of the Royal Netherlands Football Association, KNVB, he began rehabilitation in Europe and is expected to continue treatment at CT Joaquim Grava after the international break ends on Tuesday.

This is his seventh medical issue since joining Corinthians. He has one goal and one assist in 12 appearances, having missed the first matches of the year while undergoing muscle rebalancing.

Depay will miss Corinthians' trip to Fluminense on Wednesday at 21:30 at the Maracanã, in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
